Last updated: September 11, 2026By accessing or using the GreatIfe Alumni platform ("the platform"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not register for an account or otherwise use the platform.
The platform is intended for graduates, current committee members, and affiliates of the University of Ife / Obafemi Awolowo University alumni community. You must be at least 16 years old to register. To access member features, you must create an account and are responsible for:
We reserve the right to verify alumni status and to decline or remove an account that cannot be reasonably confirmed as belonging to an eligible member.
You agree to use the platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You agree not to:
We may investigate and take action against violations, including content removal, account suspension, or termination.
Some chapters and the association as a whole may require periodic membership dues to remain in good standing and, where applicable, to be eligible to vote in certain elections. Dues are processed through our third-party payment providers (Stripe, Paystack, or Flutterwave); by submitting a payment you agree to their respective terms of service as well. Dues payments are generally non-refundable once processed, except where required by law or expressly stated at the time of payment. Failure to pay applicable dues may affect your voting eligibility and access to certain chapter benefits, but does not affect your underlying account or profile.
All donations made through the platform, whether to the general fund or to a specific campaign, are voluntary and non-refundable unless required by law. Donation receipts are provided for your records where applicable; consult your own tax advisor regarding deductibility in your jurisdiction. We aim to apply donations to the campaign you select, but reserve the right to redirect funds to the general fund if a campaign is discontinued or has already met its goal.

Participation in alumni chapters and committees is subject to additional guidelines set at the chapter, country, or global level:
The platform's messaging feature is provided for legitimate alumni networking. Messages are private between sender and recipient, but we may access message content where necessary to investigate a report of abuse, harassment, or a violation of these terms, or where required by law. Do not use messaging to send spam, harassment, or content unrelated to alumni networking.
The mentorship program connects members as mentors and mentees on a voluntary, good-faith basis. GreatIfe Alumni facilitates these introductions but does not guarantee any particular outcome, availability, or quality of mentorship, and is not a party to any arrangement mentors and mentees make between themselves. Participants are expected to engage respectfully and professionally.
Job listings are submitted by members and third parties and may be reviewed before publication, but we do not independently verify every employer or posting and do not guarantee the accuracy of any listing. GreatIfe Alumni is not a party to, and is not responsible for, any employment relationship, offer, or dispute arising from a job board listing. Report a suspicious or fraudulent listing to us using the contact details below.
All platform content, including text, graphics, logos, and software, other than content you submit yourself, is the property of GreatIfe Alumni or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from platform content without our written permission, except as reasonably needed for personal, non-commercial use of the platform.
By posting content on the platform — a profile bio, a committee bio, an event photo, a job listing, or similar — you grant GreatIfe Alumni a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and display that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform. You represent that you have the right to post the content you submit, and that it doesn't infringe on anyone else's rights.
Your privacy matters to us. Our Privacy Policy explains in detail how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use the platform, and forms part of these Terms by reference.
Event registration and participation are subject to availability and any additional terms specific to that event. We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or modify events as necessary, including for reasons outside our control, and will make reasonable efforts to notify registered attendees of any change.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the platform, with or without notice, for conduct we reasonably believe violates these terms, applicable law, or poses a risk to other members or the platform. You may also close your own account at any time by contacting us; see our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data afterward.
The platform is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted, error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, GreatIfe Alumni shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the platform, including but not limited to donation processing delays, third-party payment gateway outages, or job board or mentorship arrangements between members.
You agree to indemnify and hold GreatIfe Alumni, its volunteers, officers, and administrators harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your violation of these terms or your misuse of the platform.
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, regardless of where you access the platform from. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the platform will first be addressed through good-faith direct negotiation with us before any formal proceeding is initiated.
We may modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above, and where appropriate we'll notify members directly. Continued use of the platform after a change constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. You may not assign your account or these terms to anyone else; we may assign our rights and obligations in connection with a reorganization of the association. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and GreatIfe Alumni regarding the platform.
